According to the latest report prepared for the 30th anniversary of the Polish Leasing Association, “Leasing on the path of transformation, we’ve driven the economy for 30 years”, since 2005 the leasing market in Poland has grown more than sixfold. It reached PLN 102 billion in 2023 compared to PLN 16 billion in 2005. This result proves the unabated pace of this sectors development.

Poland has achieved an average annual growth rate of 10.9% over the past decade. This is above the European average of around 4.7%. This proves that the Polish leasing market is not only growing faster than in other European markets, but also maintains a sustainable upward trend.

The leasing sector has become an integral part of the Polish economy, generating almost 50% of GDP. Companies operating in the leasing sector and their customers are the main driving force for many sectors of the economy. Leasing has become a key source of investment financing.

The SME sector (Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises) plays a key role as the main beneficiaries of leasing services. These companies account for 69% of all leasing customers, which is in line with their share in Poland’s GDP (47%). For 62% of SMEs, leasing is a key financial tool, demonstrating its importance for the development of the sector.

The growing role of large players on the leasing market in Poland should not be overlooked. The largest companies increased their market shares, which contributed to the stabilization and further development of the sector.
