Poland, in addition to exporting machinery and vehicles, has consistently strengthened its position as a supplier of high-quality components and electrical equipment for European and global industry.

Main export directions

Total Polish exports under HS 85 include both classic electrotechnical equipment (e.g. motors, electrical equipment, installation elements) and computers, telephones, electronics and others.

Within this group of sectors, the most important export directions are:

  • Germany – $13.58 billion,
  • Great Britain – $2.19 billion,
  • USA – $1.82 billion ,
  • Hungary – $1.44 billion.

Poland has a very strong export position on the markets, especially of the European Union countries, but also globally, especially within the HS 8543 commodity subgroup  (electrical machinery and apparatus with individual functions, not classified elsewhere). The value of exports in this category in 2023 amounted to USD 641 million, recording a year-on-year increase of 24 percent. The most important export destinations were Germany (USD 167 million), the Netherlands (USD 59 million), the Czech Republic (USD 46 million), Italy (USD 44 million), France (USD 42 million), the USA (USD 39 million), Slovakia (USD 34 million), Spain (USD 26 million), the United Kingdom (USD 20 million) and Korea (USD 16.2 million).

Production is growing at a rapid pace

According to GUS data and market analyses, the production of electrical equipment in Poland showed strong growth in the last months of 2024 – in September it was higher by 19.3 percent. compared to August. and the growing demand for innovative solutions in industry. The dynamic pace reflects the sector’s resilience to economic fluctuations

Development prospects

The growing importance of electromobility, industrial automation, IoT and renewable energy is conducive to further expansion of Polish manufacturers of electrical equipment. Forecasts for 2025-2027 indicate a stable increase in the value of exports, with continued high demand for high-quality products in Western Europe.

The export of electrical and electronic equipment is becoming one of the most important drivers of the Polish economy. Poland, which is today a significant partner for Germany, Great Britain, the USA and Hungary, is not slowing down, looking for sales on non-European markets. Technological development and investments in innovation mean that this sector has the potential to maintain high growth dynamics in the coming years and strengthen the “Made in Poland” brand  in global trade.
