Poland and Azerbaijan develop their cooperation in the agri-food sector

Opportunities to increase trade, expert support and specific initiatives for the agri-food sector were the main topics of the Polish-Azerbaijani meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Azerbaijan as a strategic partner

Poland sees Azerbaijan as a strategic partner in the agricultural sector and declares its openness to deepening bilateral dialogue and implementing joint initiatives beneficial to both sides.

Development of agri-food exports

Polish companies declare their readiness to increase the export of agri-food goods to the Azerbaijani market. Facilitating access to this market is the recognition of the pre-listing principle for Polish plants producing products of animal origin.

Expert support and cooperation projects

The meeting also included a presentation of the possibilities of expert support for partners from Azerbaijan, other things. through the implementation of twinning projects and institutional cooperation.

Initiatives and events

The Azerbaijani side has issued invitations to upcoming industry events, including the World Urban Forum (WUF13) and Caspian Agro, as well as presented proposals for projects aimed at further strengthening relations in the agricultural sector.

Stable growth of Polish exports

For many years, Polish exports of agri-food products to Azerbaijan have maintained a positive balance. In 2024, the value of exports reached EUR 27.2 million, an increase of 10% compared to the previous year. The largest volumes included chocolate and cocoa products, sugar syrups, and processed and frozen vegetables.

According to data for 11 months of 2025, exports of Polish agri-food products to Azerbaijan amounted to approximately EUR 21.3 million, maintaining a stable upward trend.
