The North-South Logistics and Transport Cluster in Gdańsk is a modern cooperative relation operating on the basis of the so-called cluster helix. It has been operating since 2012 and brings together over 200 entities, from strictly logistic companies through forwarding companies, service companies, port and maritime shipbuilding companies, IT companies and others. We also bring together business support institutions and universities, as well as scientific institutes. Local government institutions also belong to the Cluster.
Areas of export support
Membership in a cluster does not automatically mean obtaining a grant. You can get extra points for being a member of a National Key Cluster, but it is not the main factor attracting members to the cluster. The main argument is the possibility of building business relationships based on mutual trust between cluster members. In addition, proposals can be submitted to Intelligent Specialization programs at the national and provincial level. Since most of the subsidies are based on the themes included in the Smart Specialisations, it gives our members a unique opportunity to create guidelines for competitions that make it possible to obtain EU funds later on. Another example of successful intra-cluster projects are R&D projects from Horizon 2020, in which only international consortia can participate.
