Poland at EXPO 2020 – a brief summary

SUMMARY OF POLAND’S PARTICIPATION AT EXPO 2020 DUBAI

On Thursday, March 31, 2022, the World Exhibition in Dubai concluded. This is a brief summary of Poland’s participation at EXPO 2020 Dubai.

For half a year, Poland presented its greatest achievements while its entrepreneurs made new business contacts. Visitors from all over the world learned about Polish culture, its natural wonders, as well as new technologies and Polish traditions. The Polish Pavilion hosted approximately 1,000 events, including Chopin recitals, educational workshops, business seminars, and fashion shows. A total of 20 temporary exhibitions, prepared by various insitutions and agencies representing different regions of Poland, took place during those six months. Poland also organised 2 international economic forums, which were attended by over 1,200 participants in total.

“Poland. Creativity inspired by nature”

The overarching theme of Polish participation in Expo 2020 Dubai was “Poland. Creativity inspired by nature”. Amongst the most important events organised by Poland at Expo 2020 Dubai we would find Independence Day (November 11, 2021), Polish-Arab Economic Forum (December 6, 2021), Polish Day (December 7, 2021) and the Polish-African Economic Forum (March 28, 2022).

Companies involved


Approximately 2,500 Polish companies took advantage of myriad development opportunities arising from these new markets, thanks to the comprehensive economic program prepared for Expo 2020 Dubai. There was over a dozen of business initiatives, such as Go to Brand program, seminars and webinars.

As part of the Partnership Program, Poland at EXPO 2020 worked closely with 33 Polish companies. The selected entrepreneurs provided equipment for the Polish Pavilion at the World Exhibition, and organised cultural, business and educational events.
The Polish Pavilion was recognised by the World Exhibitions Bureau. It was presented a silver award for interior design in the category of medium-sized pavilions.

But the Polish Investment and Trade Agency as the organiser of Poland’s participation in Expo 2020 Dubai was also responsible for the entire economic program of the Pavilion. PAIH was supported by three strategic partners – PKN ORLEN, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (Polish Development bank) BGK and PLL LOT.
