The creative industries sector, with particular emphasis on the computer games industry
The Polish gaming industry has become one of the fastest-growing segments of the creative industries in Europe. Games developed in Poland reach global markets, achieving strong sales performance and earning recognition from players around the world. In 2024, the value of Polish game exports exceeded 1.293 billion EUR, with the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan serving as the largest export destinations.
An increasing number of Polish productions are being developed in cooperation with international publishers and digital distribution platforms, further expanding their global reach. Growing demand for high-quality digital content, combined with the rapid development of mobile, console, and PC gaming markets, is creating favourable opportunities for the continued expansion of Polish studios. Poland’s competitiveness is reinforced by a highly skilled workforce, the creativity of its developers, and extensive experience in delivering both AAA and indie projects — all of which have become important elements of the country’s export offer.

Presence at international events
In the years 2024–2029, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development is implementing a promotion program for the creative industries under the non-competitive project titled “Internationalisation of SMEs – BRAND HUB”, Activity 2.26 of the “European Funds for a Smart Economy 2021–2027” (FENG) program.
The main objective of the program is to showcase the Polish creative industries — in particular the video game industry — to international partners, and to promote Poland as a country that develops advanced technologies and services, offers interesting and innovative solutions, and demonstrates strong potential for growth in foreign markets. The program’s promotional activities are available to Polish companies operating in the creative sector that are seeking international partners.
The program includes promotional activities aimed at supporting the entire creative industries sector, including the video game industry, as well as promoting the Polish economy through:
- organising national pavilions at major international industry trade fairs,
- updating the Game Industry of Poland report in English, presenting the Polish gaming sector,
- organising inbound missions of industry journalists to selected Polish gaming events with an international profile,
- implementing information and promotional campaigns.

“The game industry of Poland – report 2023” is the third edition of a publication prepared by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) aimed at bringing the Polish gaming industry closer to the international community. Published as part of a project financed by the European Union, the report contains updated statistical data and profiles of more than 190 Polish gaming companies.
The aim of the report was not only to emphasize the undeniably high position of the domestic gamedev in the international environment, but also to show other strengths of the industry in which we are successful in the international arena, including such areas as distribution, game localization, external development, assets production or quality assurance.
Computer games, and more specifically gamedev (video game development), is a relatively young and at the same time the most dynamically developing branch of the creative industry. Over the last dozen or so years, the gamedev industry has developed on an unimaginable scale. Taking into account the fact that people are increasingly looking for entertainment in the virtual world, its further development prospects seem equally optimistic.
