Industry description
The automotive industry is the second largest economic sector in Poland in terms of turnover. Its main driving force is manufacturers of car parts and accessories. There are approximately 205,000 people working in the automotive sector in Poland, according to the second quarter of 2024.
The domestic automotive sector has a lot to be proud of: in 2024, Poland was the sixth largest exporter of batteries in the world and the value of this market exceeded EUR 7 billion. The total capacity of batteries produced in Poland exceeded 115 GWh in 2025. Why investing in the Polish furniture sector is a good idea?
- Manufacturing flexibility and personalisation – many Polish companies offer customised production and the possibility to personalise products, adapting the offer to the needs of foreign customers.
- In terms of electromobility development, Poland has an advantage due to its large reserves of copper ore, which is the raw material used in the manufacture of electric motors, batteries, inverters, wiring and charging stations. The country has abundant copper ore reserves, which ranks it 9th in the world in terms of refinery production. The copper deposit located in Nowa Sól is considered one of the largest and highest quality in the world.
- Proximity to key markets – Poland’s strategic location in the centre of Europe enables fast delivery to EU countries, reducing transport costs and ensuring stability of supply chains.
- With over 3.5 million LPG-powered vehicles, Poland maintains its position as the European leader in the autogas market, according to data from the Polish Liquid Gas Association (POGP).
- Poland is among the top ten exporters of automotive components worldwide, holding the 7th place in 2023.
