Saudi journalists discover the technological face of Poland

Cutting-edge technologies, innovative approaches to security and rapidly growing companies – this is what a delegation of journalists from Saudi Arabia found in Poland. Their visit was part of a programme intended to promote Poland’s high-tech sector in the area of cybersecurity and dual-use goods.

Journalists Ahmed Mahgoub (Asharq News), Saad Zaghloul(Asharq Business with Bloomberg) and Umair Aslam (Global Defense Insight) from Persian Gulf countries, specialising in this sector, attended the prestigious CYBERSEC Forum & Expo 2025 conference in Krakow, Poland. The media representatives had the opportunity to follow industry panels and debates, as well as to meet directly with representatives of the most interesting Polish companies in the cybersecurity sector. The journalists also met with a representative of the Cybersecurity Cluster #CyberMadeInPoland, which brings together leading IT and security players.

Małopolska region’s companies in the spotlight

The delegation also visited companies from the Małopolska region: ProDevice – a global manufacturer of technologies that erase data from various types of storage media, DefendEye – a start-up developing a handheld drone launcher system and Axence – a provider of IT management, remote access and network security software.

The Polish companies presented not only their products, but also their business philosophy, innovation and ambition to expand abroad. The visitors from Saudi Arabia appreciated the high quality and technological advancement of Polish solutions. In their conversations, they repeatedly stressed that Made in Poland is becoming an increasingly strong mark of quality in the area of new technologies.

We are a country that supplies innovative technologies all over the world. The Persian Gulf countries, the ZAE and Saudi Arabia are very surprised by how quickly Polish companies are growing and how innovative the products we are creating in Poland are. This is a very good sign for us, as it is the opening of a potential huge market with huge financial resources, where Polish companies can expand further into the next part of the world, says Maciej Wnuk, IT/ICT expert at the Polish Investment and Trade Agency.

Polish technologies gain prominence in Saudi Arabia

The mission resulted in numerous publications on Saudi industry websites, which familiarised the local readers with the offer of Polish companies. This is an important step in building Poland’s recognition as a technology partner in the Middle East region.

The incoming mission took place within the framework of the programme for the promotion of the high-technology sector in the area of security and dual-use goods as part of the non-competitive project entitled ‘Internationalisation of SMEs – BRAND HUB’, measure 2.26 of the ‘European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021-2027’ Programme (FENG)
