Industry description

The Polish construction industry is one of the key sectors of the economy, accounting for a significant share of infrastructure and residential investments in the country. In recent years, the construction market in Poland has been developing dynamically, driven by both public and private projects. Major investments include the modernization of transport infrastructure, construction of expressways, highways, railway lines, and public utility buildings.

In 2023, the value of the Polish construction market exceeded PLN 300 billion, and the sector employs hundreds of thousands of workers. Increasing emphasis is placed on sustainable construction, the use of energy-efficient technologies, and environmentally friendly materials. Poland is also becoming an attractive market for foreign investors who participate in large infrastructure and commercial projects.

Exports of construction services from Poland are growing, particularly in EU countries, where Polish companies carry out contracts in Germany, Scandinavia, and other Central and Eastern European markets. The competitiveness of Polish enterprises is supported by high-quality workmanship, experience in large-scale projects, and relatively low labor costs. Additionally, the development of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, process automation, and industry digitization opens new opportunities for further expansion and increased efficiency.

The outlook for the construction sector in Poland remains positive, especially in the context of infrastructure development plans, energy transition, and the growing demand for modern residential and commercial buildings.
