4th International Maritime Congress in Szczecin, 8-10th June 2016
Three editions of the International Maritime Congress in Szczecin are now past us. This event originated from the needs of seamen, who know best its needs and challenges, and, at the same time, are the most appreciative of the strength within the maritime economy.
They have met in Szczecin three times to discuss, work out directions for activities and identify problems. Practitioners and theoreticians, entrepreneurs and scientists, legislators and those influenced by the law every day, all sat down opposite one another. These meetings resulted in the writing down of conclusions and postulates that every year were handed over to the Government, and that were reflected, among other things, in the Resolution on the maritime policy of the Republic of Poland.
Legislative changes are among the more-important, but not the only achievements of the Congress. The importance of the event organised by us is proven by the significance of the appearing speakers. In the third edition of the Congress, these included Secretaries General of such organisations as the European Maritime Safety Agency, the European Sea Ports Organisation, the Baltic and International Maritime Council, the International Maritime Organisation and the European Coordinator for the 1st Baltic-Adriatic Corridor. Such a strong representation of specialists makes it possible for us to create an ambitious and comprehensive programme, to deliver high-quality knowledge for participants to use at the professional level. On 8-10 June 2016, during the 4th International Maritime Congress in Szczecin, the programme will include such issues as the port, shipyard and sailing industries, maritime safety, power engineering, ecology, fisheries and sea mining.
The Congress is attended by approx. 1000 individuals from Poland and Europe. The vast majority of attendees are regular participants, who take part in the event every year. Congress participants represent the management of medium-sized and large companies associated with the broadly understood maritime industry. The possibility of engaging in networking that will result in business cooperation is one of the reasons why such eminent guests come to visit us. We provide them with an opportunity to meet one another at the Congress, as well as during accompanying events – debates, cooperation exchanges, and evening meetings.
Every year we strengthen the international aspect of the Congress. Conclusions drawn at the 3rd International Maritime Congress were presented in Brussels to MEPs involved in the affairs of the maritime economy. The 4th International Maritime Congress in Szczecin will be among the official events under the Polish Presidency in the Council of the Baltic Sea States.
Today we would like to invite you to participate in the 4th International Maritime Congress in Szczecin. We are sure that the issues addressed and discussions held during the event will turn out to be interesting due to your position.
