Poland strengthens its position as one of the largest exporters of poultry
Poland is the largest poultry producer in the European Union and the third largest exporter of poultry in the world. Only Brazil and the USA are bigger players than Poland on the global market.
Polish poultry exports in 2023
According to the Central Statistical Office, in 2023 the value of Polish poultry exports amounted to USD 4.5 billion (Brazil – USD 8.97 billion, USA – USD 4.88 billion).
The largest recipients of Poland’s poultry production were:
- Germany ($952.8 million)
- United Kingdom ($631.7 million)
- France ($544.7 million)
- Netherlands ($436,8 million)
Apart from these, the Czech Republic ($243.5 million), Spain ($ 205.4 million), Slovakia ($ 130 million), Belgium ($ 124.5 million).
In 2023, Polish poultry reached customers in 98 countries around the world.

New markets for Polish poultry
Vietnam, after the free trade agreement signed in August 2022 with the EU, Polish poultry exports in 2023 reached USD 45.8 million, recording a 38% growth rate y/y);
The Philippines as of August 2023, the Philippine market with 115 million inhabitants has been open to Polish poultry, the value of several months of exports is over USD 357 thousand in 2023;
Japan as of July 2024, the Japanese market with over 124 million potential consumers is open to importing poultry from Poland.
According to a report prepared by Strategy&, by the end of 2027 the cumulative annual growth rate of poultry and offal production in Poland is expected to remain at a plus level of 1.3%. This growth rate (CAGR – Compound Annual Growth Rate) reflects the stable but moderate development of the poultry sector in our country in the coming years.
